Book Farm Staff
The Book Farm is a family operated business.
Ethel Ficks, M.A. Owner
Ethel is a long-time resident of Boise. She has owned and operated the Book Farm since 1975. Ethel has a Masters Degree from Boise State University with an emphasis on Reading Education, and has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah. Ethel works as a Personal Care Provider in addtion to managing the books and the facility for the Book Farm. She loves the outdoors, and spends considerable time working on the Book Farm property. At 74 years of age, Ethel is an amazing example of how keeping active physically and mentally can create an amazing quality of life.
Dave Ficks, M.Ed, Manager
Dave is an educator with a diverse set of professional skills including educational program managment, curriculum development, marketing and promotions, small business and non-profit consulting, teaching, training and web development. He is a graduateof Boise State Univeristy with a Bachelors Degree in psyhcology and holds a Masters Degree in Professional Technical Education from University of Idaho. He is currently working on his dissertation to complete requirements for a PhD in Adult and Organizational Learning. Dave works at LifeFoods as Business Services Manager, has a web and online marketing consulting practice, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Boise Urban Garden School.

Drew Swanson comes from a creative background. Beginning his career doing a mix of photo retouching, Multimedia design and Video editing/effects. In Early 2007 Drew started SwansonDigital, a consulting business focussed on Apple support and training. As a member of the Apple Consultants Network, Drew can provide support for any Apple issue from the very basics to training on pro Applications.
